Can you help me find the name of a song?

A friend of mine was in Jamaica last month (December 2011) and heard a song on the radio in Kingston.
"Here are the lyrics as he remembers them:
Momma (or mommy?) why didn't daddy come home last night?
Momma (or mommy?) said daddy got killed (or shot?) in a gun fight"
