Devon McKillop - Born October 18th 1976 at Naylors Hill, in the Parish of Portland on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Devon Charles McKillop is the fifth child of Adassa and Wilfred McKellop.

The fifth child of Adassa and Wilfred McKellop. His father died when he was
only ten years old and life became somewhat of a struggle for his mother with six children. He went out on his own in order to help himself at an early age. Most of his youth was spent among older men who had an interest in music. For them music was a relief from stress after a hard days’ work.
As he grew up and started working as a construction worker some of the
men on the construction site would encourage him to get involved in the
nightly DJ sessions they held at various location in Port Antonio.
Pretty
soon he became very involved in the DJ art form and found that he loved
it and was good at it. He began writing lyrics and sang to many rhythm.
In
1998 he left Portland to explore Jamaica in order to find his true
calling. Using construction work as a means of income he was able to
focus more intensely on his music. Rehearsal was a daily thing for him
and he spent many hours putting lyrics together, which he studied by
heart. He spent many hours listening to his favorite artiste King Shango
(Capleton) and tried to emulate his unique style.
He returned to
Portland in 2001 and began recording music and putting them on CD’s.
Many of his friend and associates were very impressed with the quality
of his music and encouraged him to continue his rehearsals. He had the
opportunity to work in several stage show with some well-known artiste
like “ Busy signal and “ liquid “and “brain” and “future wise” to name a
few.
He released his first single “Never had to wake this
morning” in 2011, which was aired on our local radio station “Styles FM”
(96.1) the music was met with great enthusiasm by the local town folks.
He is presently working on several other recordings. In the works is
the song entitled “Tek it easy” which is due for release as early as
January 2013.
