Dancehall artiste Chizem official Biography

Chizem: born Shanet Ann Marie Chizem Chisholm, in the cool town of Mandeville.

With a love for entertaining from she was a toddler, Chizem has taken on music on the local scene without any fear.

As with her humble upbringing, her concentration is in upbeat music that celebrates the Jamaican woman (and she can tell you about the household of strong, influential women whom she grew up with who stand as her role models and inspiration).

Being in the school choir from age 10, and singing in church almost every week on the church youth groups and choir, influenced her to write her first song. But her first song, (Every body got to know),was definitely NOT a hymn! Having fallen ill with an undiagnosed ailment as a teenager, she wrote her first song from her hospital bed and has not stopped since then. Now, fully recovered and with a bigger zest for life more than ever, Chizem is relentless in her pursuit on achieving great success in the music business.

Her first official Studio hit, ‘Have it lock’ was aired on Roots 96.1FM in Jamaica and she intends to channel her love and excitement about being Jamaica’s next big female star into her music. Just listen to her tunes and you will see just why her enthusiasm about the direction of her musical prowess continues to soar, as she aims to take the world by the reins with a different flair in her musical style.

To date she has scored several hits like “feel it”(Caribbean riddim) produced by Stunna Entertainment,“come over”(iron sky riddim) produced by Music Slave Records/Stunna Entertainment and much more work in the pipe lines for the remainder of 2013 and beyond. Chizem is currently managed and promoted by Stunna Entertainment Promotions and can be reached by email : or
