ZJ Chrome of Zip 103FM & CR203 Productions
ZJ Chrome is one of Jamaica's most sought after DJ,
the producer who's real name is Shaun Chabal, was educated at the Northern Caribbean University where he studied Music Production and Audio Engineering.
When not workking on Zip 103FM, you could find him creating beats, the next big dancehall or Reggae Riddim.
He burst on to the production scene in 2007 with his Chromium rhythm which featured hits like Shake It Up from Munga and Twice A Day from Mavado, Chrome is continuing to make waves with his Cr203 Records.
The Zip Jock first big riddim was the Tripple Bounce, this dancehall riddim did very will in Jamaica, USA, Europe and the Caribbean.
You tune in to him on Zip 103FM on Sundays, 2pm to 6pm; Fridays, 6pm to 10pm; and Saturdays, 10 am to 2pm, where he plays dancehall, Reggae, hip-hop and alternative music.
The name of his Record Label is CR203 Production. In September 2011 he released the V6 Dancehall Riddim, it feature artiste such as Vybz Kartel and Popcaan. That same year he also released the Cardiac Strings Reggae Riddim, it feature artiste such as Alaine, Cecile, Chris Martin, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley and Voicemail.
Chrome started playing music inside his house on a component Set which had one Turntable. He is from the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica, His first job as a DJ was working on a local sound system in his home town call "Little Wicked".
In 2010 the ZJ was nominated for an EME (Excellene in Music and Entertainment Award) for his "Tribble Bounce Riddim". The track listing boasts Movado’s ‘Hope & Pray’, Elephant Man’s ‘Represent’, Voicemail and Overmars’ ‘Nuh Behaviour’, Mr Vegas’ ‘Gallis’, Bugle’s ‘Anything Goes’ and two tracks from Addi di Teacha titled ‘Bicycle’ and ‘Mr Officer’ among others.
Other riddims released by ZJ Chrome's CR203 Production which did very well are Contra Riddim, Dancehall EFX, Mad Collab riddim and also his mixtape "Untouchable".
