Ziggy Marley is the oldest son for Bob and Rita Marley.





Born October 17, 1968 (David Nesta Marley) is a Reggae musician, Singer, Song-writer and also a Guitarist. He also plays the Percussion, Vocals, Guitar and Piano.

He was born in Trench Town, a small Inner city community in Kingston, Jamaica.

His first recording was a collaboration done with his father Bob, brother Stephen and sisters Cedella and Sharon. The title of the track is "Children Playing In The Streets", released in 1979.

They were later called the Melody Makers. Their first album "Play The Game Right" was released in 1985. They have released over 14 albums, the latest being "The Best of Ziggie Marley and the Melody Makers. It was released in 2008.

Even though the group is still active, he has taken his career on a solo path.

This has led to the released of three (3) albums:
1. Dragon Fly (2003)
2. Love is My Religion (2006) and
3. Family Time (2009)

For his album Love is my Religion, he won a Grammy for "Best Reggae Album".

He is married to Orly Marley, and is the proud father of 6 children, Daniel Marley, Camille Marley, Zuri Marley, Judah Victoria, Gideon Robert Nesta and Abraham Selassie Robert Nesta.
