For the month of February None of Vybz Kartel's song will be played on Irie Jam radio station in New York.


In an interview host/programme director, Dubb Master Chris said "He will not play any music from the artiste who has raised eyebrows for bleaching his skin.

Black History Month is a big deal and we as a people should take every opportunity to celebrate our heritage.

I feel if I continue to play Vybz Kartel, an artiste who is now very much known for bleaching his skin, it simply sends the wrong message to my young impressionable listeners" Chris said.

Kartel's is now the center of focus in Jamaica and even the Caribbean, due to the fact that he has made it clear that he is bleaching his skin.

Even though most people are against bleaching his song "CAKE SOAP" is one of the most popular song on the Island today. In this song he said that the cool tone that his skin now has is because of the soap which he has being using.

What do you think about the action being taken by Irie Jam radio station.

I think criticizing kartel is a load of bullshit...u wanna be white,fine that's you...but how come when white people go to the tanning salon no one creates a fuss or ban their products...and here I thought this country was over that shit,I mean wtf!!!!!

This is it, him never take it on put it in dem hand and say use it, if you want to do it do it, you dont want to do it dont.

Some people are just saying this and saying that but by the end of the day dem want to do it, a just now dem have something to say is because of him why dem a do it..

Am a radio disc jockey and am going to play what the people want to hear, I believe that kartel is one of the best dj Jamaican have ever seeing in a long time.

This is why he is getting so much bashing look at it this way if nothing is going on for you no one see you but as long as you are on top then all eyes are on you ..... give the dj a break
