Upcomming dancehall reggae artiste "Lil Joe" is dead

The dancehall reggae music industry has lost yet another young upcoming artiste.

This time it is Lil' Joe, Joe passed away at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew on Monday February 7, 2011.

Reports are that he performed in Wickie Wackie, St Thomas on Sunday night after which he was rushed to hospital Monday morning where he died.

Reports are that he died from a ruptured blood vessel. He was 25 years old. Lil Joe (Alty Nunes) is the son of Former Nation Dance Theater Company tutor Patsy Ricketts.

He gain recognition after after placing third in the 2005 Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's festival song competition.

He has also performed on events including Reggae Sumfest, A St Mary Mi Come From, Cure Fest, Beenie Man's Summer Sizzle and the Launch of MTV's Tempo.
