Toni Braxton set to perform at Jamaica Jazz and Blues festival 2014

Iconic American singer and six-time Grammy-winning artist, Toni Braxton will be one of this year’s headliners for the upcoming Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, set for Jan. 30 – Feb. 1 in Montego Bay, according to reports Sunday.

Braxton, known for several classics such as Un-break My Heart, Spanish Guitar, among others, is no stranger to Jamaican music. She was one of the headline international acts who performed at Reggae Sumfest in 2009 and once collaborated with fellow Grammy-winning artist, Shaggy for the single, Christmas in Jamaica.

Joining Braxton on this year’s Jazz and Blues bill will be another iconic singer, Chaka Khan, who herself is a 10-time Grammy-winner and is known for classics like Through The Fire and Ain't Nobody. Additionally, fellow Grammy-winning artists such as country singer, Crystal Gayle has been confirmed for the show as R&B singer, Chrisette Michelle.

This year’s Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival will begin at the end of January this year as to avoid bookings clashes with next year’s Grammy Awards, set to be staged on Jan. 26 in Los Angeles. Several patrons in Jamaica and overseas have reportedly made advanced ticket purchases.
