The Harder They Come remake
Harder They Come
The 1972 Jamaican movie classic The Harder They Come will be remade using the production companies of United Kingdom-based Zingu Films and Canada-based Conquering Lion with producer Justine Henzell.
The original film was written and directed by Perry Henzell, Justine’s father.
Justine, the daughter of late filmmaker Perry Henzell says the remake of the Harder they come is to mark the 40th anniversary of the film’s release.
She adds that cast is still being assembled and the film is expected to be released in 2012.
Conquering Lion’s producer Damon D’Oliveira described the remake as "a re-imagining that will move to contemporary reggae and reggae-influenced grooves."
Perry Henzell who died from cancer in 2006, was universally known for The Harder They Come, an urban drama starred by singer Jimmy Cliff and Carl Bradshaw.
