ST. MARY INFIRMARY RECEIVES DONATION FROM DECKY PROMOTIONS

On Tuesday, May 27, CEO of Decky Promotions, Dexton Ennis , handed over part proceeds of the recent event, Magnum Follow Ur Sound, to the St. Mary Infirmary. Mayor of Port Maria, Levan Ainsworth Freeman accepted the cheque, valued at $100, 000, on behalf of the Infirmary.

Mr. Ennis has been assisting the Infirmary for over 13 years and says he is committed to helping for years to come. “They say you can tell a nation by the way it treats its sick, helpless and elderly. We often forget these people and they need to feel loved, cared for and protected. I would encourage other promoters to give back to these vulnerable persons.”

The St. Mary Infirmary, formerly known as the St. Mary Poorhouse, has been around since 1985 . It houses over 80 persons, some of whom are physically and mentally challenged.

Magnum Tonic Wine has teamed up with Decky Promotions to host the Magnum Follow Ur Sound Series : a clash with no profanity, no indecent language and no discriminatory lyrics. The first staging of the series was held on Sunday, April 27 at Sugarman’s Beach in St. Catherine and featured popular sounds : BodyGuard, Sound Trooper, Flava Unit and Silver Hawk vying for a cash prize of $250,000 and the Follow Ur Sound Championship Belt . Silver Hawk walked away the winner and will face Flava Unit, Innocent and Crazy Chris at Pier One in Montego Bay on July 31 to keep the Championship Belt. The event will be hosted by the warlord , Bounty Killer, and will see Wickerman and Major Mackerel facing off in a 45’s shoot out.
