Reo Soul Singer Song Writer Official Biography

Reo Soul - Struck by the beauty of rhythms and soul, music found its way in the life of the young, intelligent, and talented songwriter and upcoming artiste.

Born out of Kingston, Jamaica – Reo Renaldo Dockery (birth name), found himself writing poems to create the soothing melodies of tones and expressions.

Throughout ReoSoul’s High School years, he spent most of his time scribbling down songs on the back of his notebook.

His passion back then lead him to start composing lyrics and sharing them with friends and families. Using his love for old school reggae, souls and rhythm and blues genres, he began experimenting in the fusion of all three creating magical sounds with the help of his little brother, Gary Dockery.

He even took matters into his own hands when he started doing voice training with one of Jamaica’s best – Joy Fairclough. However, it was not until ReoSoul while working for his family business, that he started becoming acquainted with the Jamaican Music Fraternity where he found himself writing songs for reggae and dancehall artistes alike.

In 2011, ReoSoul got his big break when he was discovered by Platinum Producer, Dale ‘Dr.Dizzle’ Virgo while on the job. Within less than a week, ReoSoul had his first song produced and has been playing over local radio stations ever since.

His first single – ‘Struck by Love’, is a reggae-soul genre described by many as the new era of music, which is intended to not only soothe the hearts and souls of many, but to also deliver clean and clear messages of love and upliftment. ReoSoul has come with high hopes and expectation to travel the world and let his music speak for itself.
