Queen Ifrica the Fyah Muma. Born Ventrice Morgan on March 25, 1975 in the hills of Montego Bay, St James, Jamaica.
This queen of reggae is the daughter of
Ska legend Derrick Morgan.
Before starting her musical career in 1995, Ifrica was a vendor of rasta products. She usually to walk the streets of Montego Bay with her basket hanging from her arms selling her Perfumes, Incense, and herbs. In 1995 she entered a talent content which was held at Club Inferno located in Rosehall,
Montego Bay, Jamaica.
She won the contest blowing away her competitors. Fyah Muma as she's also called, got her break in 1998. After performing at a show in honor of the late Garnet Silk. The head of Flames Productions Tony Rebel on hearing her clean vocals and the quality of her performance, asked her to join the flames camp. The name "Ifrica" was given to her by her mother. Ifrica's music is full of consciousness and purifying energy. Some of her most popular hits are: * Daddy * Far Away * Too Late feat. Junior Kelly * Mi nah Rub and * Lioness on the Rise Her debut album titled "Montego Bay" was released on June 16, 2009, for VP records. It has 13 tracks, including one of her biggest hit "Daddy" done in Spanish. Ifrica has performed at most of the major reggae festivals across the world, such as "Reggae on the River" in California and
the greatest reggae festival in the world Reggae sumfest
in Jamaica. This Royal empress has set out to be a force to be reckoned with, by creating timeless reggae music. A
Rastafarian
by faith, she is known for her work in the community and for writing songs about deeply personal subject matter in songs such as Below the Waist and Daddy. Her aspiration is to make music live on.
