King Salla

Soloman "King Salla Records" Dacosta was born in Claremont St.Ann was raised however in St.Mary.

Son of a Pastor, brought up in church and was always a lover of music. As a kid my father would teach me how to play various instruments but my favourite one was the drums.

One day my father was teaching me how to play the Keyboard and i was refusing, letting him know that i loved the drums better and my lesson for the day was that in order for one to be a master of his craft,he has to conquer all.

In recent times i started developing a genuine love for music so i decided to pursue and started doing music as a profession. When i started composing rhythms,i thought what the hell because i was unable to get them to sound like others.

But i realized that i had to develop a unique sound that signifies my Label "King Salla Records" so whenever they get out there one can always tell.

My first ever riddim was called "Army Troops" which is yet to be recorded on, soon though.I developed a relationship with music which attracted alot of artistes which allowed me to acquire alot of experiences and knowledge.

When i first started composing riddim i only had two artistes on board, they went by the names:Vijahlant and Modeci.

Vijahlant was a rastafarian who've gain respect through his music.Had some great hits like"Jah Jah Mek it and Harder among others. He and i would always stood up late, pooling ideas together that's how we came up with a great riddim called:"Goodie Good.

This riddim featured artistes like: Teflon, Determine,Polka Dot, Iyara, Guinne Pepper, Braveheart, Vijahlant etc.

This riddim was created by me,however was produced by Vijahlant Records. King Salla Records is owned by Soloman Dacosta with co-producer Trevor Houslin who's also an artiste goes by the name (Meleik).

Produced two great songs called:Holiday Ride and Mi Deva both done by Meliek. King Salla Records has recently released an 11 track one drop album named:"Closed door".This album features artistes like: Mr.Perfect, Shakepsear, Meleik, Kunte Kente, Robbie Rule, Hytanyah and others.

This is album is definitely something to talk about. It's smooth-grooved you know, you should check it out.Big ups to the King Salla Records family and congrats on your first project.
