Photo of Young Khalilah Rose drinking Water from a Stand Pipe in her community

Looking at this photo reminds so much of the harsh reality some of the inner cities/ghettos of Jamaica faces each day.

It shows roots reggae singer Khalilah Rose as a child drinking water from a stand pipe in her community.

Stand pipes are place in most inner cities in Jamaica by the government. This is to help the less fortunate, who are not able to get or pay for the precious commodity (water).

Growing up in these kind of conditions has helped Khalilah to be the kind of artiste she is today. when you listen to her music you can here the pain, struggles and the remedy to some of the problems facing the beautiful island of Jamaica.
