No Follow Di Arrow But You Can Follow your Sound System!

Fans of Follow Di Arrow can now look forward to a new event series from Decky Promotions starting this Easter

Magnum Follow Ur Sound, sponsored by Magnum Tonic Wine, is set to ignite the social scene as a sound clash event paralleled by none other and will see four Sound Systems vying for the highest honor, The Follow Ur Sound Championship Belt and a quarter of a million dollars in cash.

Promoter Dexton Ennis has promised patrons that Magnum Follow Ur Sound will be a clean clash with no profanity, indecent language or discriminatory lyrics.

Magnum Follow Ur Sound is geared at reintroducing clashes, which was once a huge part of our Jamaican Dancehall culture but which now appears to have gone dormant. “People have been asking us to do an event since we decided to discontinue our annual stage show, Follow Di Arrow, and this concept is the right fit, original dancehall style with a modern direction,” Ennis added.

’The first staging of the Magnum Follow Ur Sound series will take place on April 27 at Sugarman's Beach, Hellshire, St Catherine and will feature popular sounds; Flava Unit, Silver Hawk, Bodyguard and Sound Trooper going head to head for the top spot. It will be hosted by the energy god, Elephant Man, and will also see Nitty Kutchie and Tony Curtis facing off in a 45’s shoot out.

Sophia Bernard-Fairman, Group Brand Manager for Fortified Wines and Liqueurs at J Wray & Nephew Limited noted, “Magnum Tonic Wine has had a long standing relationship with Decky Promotions through its past sponsorship of Follow Di Arrow. We were therefore happy to be able to join forces with the group for its new series, “Magnum Follow Ur Sound which promises good clean entertainment. The “Magnum Follow Ur Sound” series promises to very entertaining and patrons will not be disappointed as Magnum Tonic Wine continues to solidify its commitment to high energy dancehall entertainment.

Being the first in the series, the champion on April 27 can look forward to facing other local and international sounds later this year to defend their title. Patrons can also nominate their region’s hottest sound systems to be a part of the series. “

“Magnum (Follow Ur Sound is the next phase for Decky Promotions and we intend to execute this series with the same professionalism that the industry has respected over the last thirteen years’ Ennis reiterated.

Not only will the event be extremely entertaining but it will also seek to continue the charity elements of Follow Di Arrow as part proceeds of Magnum Follow Ur Sound will be donated to the St Mary Infirmary. Patrons are invited to give the same level of support to the new series, as they have given Follow Di Arrow over the years; starting with the Follow Ur Sound Launch on March 22nd at another phenomenal Magnum Tonic Wine sponsored series, Magnum Container Satdazs at Gee Wee Car Park, across from Up Park Camp in Kingston.
