Dancehall artiste Ms Thing Official Biography

Nateshia Lindsay AKA Ms Thing, also referred to as Muma Thing, was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica on September 15, 1986.

Enjoys singing, reading, and watching the love of her life, her beautiful son AJ, who was born on November 17, 2004 grow.

She was discovered in Jamaica by super-producer Dave Kelly- the legendary author of Dude's "Fiesta" rhythm and countless Kingston smashes dating back to the Nadine Sutherland crossover hit "Action"- Ms. Thing rose to local fame with her Kelly-produced hits "Get That Money" and "Regular."

But it was "Dude" and the MTV/BET success of the "Dude Remix" video that launched Ms. Thing into the international spotlight.

"Dude" features Beenie sitting playfully raunchy rhymes over an intoxicating mix of acoustic guitar, steel drums, and laid-back rhythm, but it's Ms. Thing's inviting vocals that set it apart (and not just because she cooes things like, "I wanna dude who will do me in his van")- Maxim "Dude" is the funnest duet to hit pop radio in years.

Attribute that partly to Dave Kelly's playful "Fiesta" riddim, partly to Miss Thing's cavalier, nasal-toned homage to "a dude who will tie me to the fan."- Village Voice Kingston, JA- July 28, 2004- "Dude," Beenie Man's latest smash single, has not only re-energized his career as one of Jamaica's best-loved artists, it has announced to the world the arrival of one of it's future stars: Ms Thing.

Following in the tradition of raw female deejays like Lady Saw, Ms. Thing brings an undeniable sexuality to Miss Jamaica's fourteen expertly-crafted tracks, but clearly displays a maturity that belies her age; reflecting on themes like relationships, independence, self-reliance and everyday life as a rude girl.

With deft production from Dave Kelly and his brother Tony Kelly who contributes the banger "Jump Up and Rail," as well Don Corleone, who reteams her with Beenie Man for "she & the Doctor," Miss Jamaica also features guest appearances from Vybz Kartel on the standout track "It Haffi Good" and Switch on the bombastic jump-up "Love Guide."

Miss Jamaica concludes with a remarkable duet with soca artist Sugar Daddy, "Sweet Soca Music" which ingeniously blends Sly & Robbie's ubiquitous "Bam Bam" riddim with the Rolling Stones strings sample made famous by The Verve on "Bittersweet Symphony." Future sounds, indeed. A number one hit in Jamaica is an auspicious beginning to the career of any artist.

But with kind of raw talent displayed on this audacious debut, and the expert guidance of veterans like Beenie Man, Dave Kelly and the shocking Vibes crew, Ms. Thing may retain her crown as Miss Jamaica for many years to come.
