Longevity, Sold out Arenas, Worldwide Chart Topping, After 5 Years Hiatus Morgan Heritage Releases "Here Come The Kings"
Although no artists like to be compared to another, Reggae's
Royalty Morgan Heritage have been referred as the "Rolling Stones" of
Reggae music. Their longevity, their sold out arenas and festivals, and
their worldwide chart topping music make them a contender for the music
hall of fame.
The news of super group Morgan Heritage’s return to the stage after a five-year hiatus has been exuberantly hailed by reggae aficionados globally. It is with over-the-top anticipation that fans have embraced the re-entry into the reggae landscape of this ultra talented family, the offspring of reggae legend, Denroy Morgan The past five years has seen individual members of the group charting their singular musical destiny, stepping into the solo spotlight, while still representing the Royal Family of Reggae, Morgan Heritage.
Always cognizant of the high standards to which their music is held and the rigorous critique to which it is subjected, Morgan Heritage has adhered to intense scrutiny prior to unleashing their songs to a very discerning and supportive public. Now ready to continue their unified dominance of the reggae world, Morgan Heritage – Peetah, Gramps, Una, Mr Mojo and Lukes – have signaled their return in a spectacular way.
June 11, 2013 marked the official launch of the highly-anticipated and long-awaited album from the roots reggae group. Aptly entitled Here Come The Kings, the 12-track masterpiece has found intense favor with reggae-loving fans worldwide, thus ensuring its splash debut at number three on iTunes, the major online music selling portal. It has since worked it way up to number two, with the top spot a sure reality. However, the runaway success of the debut single, Perfect Love Song, which settled in at number one In Japan over six weeks ago, and has stayed atop the chart; scored number one in Toronto and is on an upward trend in Jamaica and the UK, was a revealing indicator of the strength of the album and the readiness of the fans to reconnect with and receive the musical mastery that is Morgan Heritage.
While this achievement gives the group much to smile about, Morgan Heritage is equally pleased at the resoundingly positive impact this will undoubtedly have on the entire reggae music industry.
Here Come The Kings, on the VP Records, Gedion and the CTBC imprints, is now available online and at all leading record stores worldwide.
