Markus Records Warns Public Against Imposters
Markus Records wishes to advise the public that he is NOT seeking money from anyone in order to raise funds in aid of his father. He also wishes to advise the public that anyone soliciting monies in aid of a concert for Buju Banton is fraudulent.
“It has recently reached me that there imposters who are pretending to be me and are claiming that they are seeking funds for a concert to help my father. I want to tell Jamaica and the rest of the world that this is the farthest thing from the truth.” Markus stated He continues, “You have some very unscrupulous individuals out there who are trying to tarnish my reputation but I will not have it. These imposters are calling around entertainers and other media personnel saying that they are Markus and is collecting money for concert in aid of my father.”
Markus Records further warns the pubic that they should not pay any money to anyone who claims that they are acting on behalf of Buju Banton.
“Please I am asking the public to be very careful about who they hand over their hard earn money to. Under no circumstances should you give any money to anyone who claims that they are representatives of Buju Banton. Neither my father nor I have given that right to anyone to collect money on his behalf”
This comes only a few months after promoters in Trinidad were tricked by “agents” of Buju who claimed they were collecting money in aid of a concert for Buju.
Anyone who is caught collecting money on behalf of Buju Banton will suffer legal consequences. Also if anyone is aware of this fraudulent act immediately inform the relevant authorities.
“I urge that if you have fallen prey or victim to this act, please seek the relevant authorities and report it. Markus Records is not liable for any monies collected from anyone but I sincerely apologize if you were drawn in by these imposters.”
