Lady Saw putting finishing touches on her 8th studio album

The Queen of Dancehall, Lady Saw is putting the final touches on her eighth studio album, set for release this July under her Diva’s Records label, marking her first full-length album since 2010.

The highly-acclaimed deejay, whose real name is Marion Hall, confirmed the details Thursday. The yet-to-be-titled album will be distributed by VP Records and features a number of top international and local acts such as Beres Hammond, Estelle, Mr. Vegas, former UB40 member, Ali Campbell and Flo Rida, with whom Saw collaborated on for the remix of her chart-topping hit, Heels On.

Furthermore, Lady Saw said the album will feature a myriad of sounds, including Dancehall, Reggae, Gospel and Jazz and Blues while revealing she recently did a photo shoot for the album.

Lady Saw’s most successful album to date was her fifth studio album, Strip Tease in 2004, which peaked at number 84 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart as well as number 14 on Billboard’s Reggae album chart. That album featured hits such as Man a Di Least, Loser (feat. Ce’Cile) and I’ve Got Your Man.

Meanwhile, the deejay recently closed her official Twitter page, citing interference from online hackers who not only compromised that account, but her official Facebook page (facebook.com/LadySawDancehall) as well, with controversial posts have been posted to said page after allegedly stealing her password to the account.

"Facebook is asking me all this bag of information for me to close it down. I have a new twitter account called LADY SAW OFFICIAL and they created another with the same name, but the real one has all capital letters," she told the Jamaica STAR Thursday.

However, she told the newspaper she will get over not having her social media pages, saying they have increasingly become a haven for internet bullies.

"It's not something I worry about,” she said. “The internet used to be a place where artistes interact with their fans, but nowadays, people just make pages to disrespect people and start arguments."
