Meet K3ndra Celesta, the rising Reggae  star out of the UK set to take the world by storm.

Born in Kinston, Jamaica, K3ndra honed her vocal talents in her family’s church under the dutiful direction of her mother. She demonstrated great skill in writing from a very early age, a talent which earned her the honour of having her poetry published in Jamaican newspapers at only 12 years old, and later permanently displayed at Greater Portmore High School.

As secretary of her Key Club, Kendra moved around Jamaica, singing everywhere she went to the gospel sounds that defined her family home. It was knowledge of her relation to the legendary Freddie McGregor, that broadened her scope to the world of Reggae and impassioned her with desire to learn more.

Moving to London in 1999 K3ndra remained and avid writer, but struggled to find herself musically. As a young woman she became involved in Black community activism which led her to become an avid student of African history & culture. Her growth in knowledge led to her development as a Spoken Word Artist, projecting her love, concerns, hopes & desires for Black people through her poetry.

But her passion for singing would find her again this time as a backing vocalist for well known reggae band Baptiste & the Rebels. Here she began to rediscover herself musically, becoming more comfortable in the expression of Reggae music she fell in love with a child. After a brief stint with this an other bands, K3ndra went solo, returning to Jamaica to record “On the Rise” and “Stand Firm”, which were very well received by local DJ’s in Kingston and London.

Now, K3ndra Celesta merges her phenomenal writing ability with her ever developing musical voice, giving birth to a fusion that is both true to life and empowering to the mind & spirit. As K3ndra herself says: “Music is the most powerful tool, be careful how you use it” – and she certainly uses it powerfully.
