"Iyah Cure"
Dancehall reggae artiste Jah Cure or Iyah Cure was born on October 11, 1978 in Hanover, Jamaica.
Cure later moved to live in Kingston where he linked up with Capleton who gave him the stage name.
His big break came in March 1997 with the released of his single "King In This Jungle" a collaboration done with Sizzla. The single was produced by his mentor Beres Hammond. Just as his musical career was taking off, he got into trouble with the law. In November 1998 he was arrested on charges of Gun possession, Robbery and rape.
He was found guilty in April 1999 and sentenced to 13 years in prison. He was released on July 28, 2007 after serving eight (8) years of the sentence.
While in prison he continue to record and release top quality music, this led to the released of three ambums>
1. Free Jah's Cure Album the Truth (2000)
2. Ghetto Life (2003) and
3. Freedom Blues (2005)
After his released from prison in 2007 he released his fourth album "True Reflection..A New Beginning" to signal that he is now a change man.
Since then he has released two other studio albums, "The Universal Cure" (2009) and "World Cry" (2010).
Cure is now signed to SoBe Entertainment/Danger Zone Music Group.
