Ifertari to release 'Keep Shining' video
Reggae artiste Ifertari will be releasing a video to her radio hit, 'Keep Shining', next month. The single, produced by Big Daddy Oreggio, was released in February and has enjoyed some favourable rotations on FM radio.
She performed the song during the stage show, 'Black Am I' in Tavern, St Andrew, last week to rave reviews.
"I did Keep Striving and Black Skin and the crowd absolutely went wild. Sizzla himself loved Keep Shining but surprisingly, the crowd responded to a stage show song I have called Raper Bwoy the most," she said.
Ifertari has generated considerable buzz for Black Skin which has received considerable support from Suncity Radio and Isis from Roots FM.
"Black Skin is inspirational, I see what is going on, and I see the colour preferences in Jamaica. I remember one time walking with my brown-skinned friend, and men calling to her instead of me ... but in more dangerous ways, this colour- preference culture has created a lot of damaged people," Ifertari said.
The song is creating a decent buzz in the Caribbean and the African diaspora. She has performed at venues all across the island, especially Portmore, where she has carved out a strong underground following. Last year, she did a couple of stints at a poetry club show and birthday party in Xuma in The Bahamas, and also did a reggae show in Nassau, the capital city.
Black Skin is available for sale on Amazon, rhapsody, Google Play, and several other downloadable sites.
Ifertari has completed work on her self-titled EP, Ifertari, which will be released in April.
