Fyah Yard member, the reggae and dub artist known as Hattaman, has released his latest solo single, “Everytime We Rise.”

The single is a grass roots authentic reggae song with the genuine dub feel and tone.
The theme of this track, like all of Hattaman's material, is socially conscientious and involves the daily struggle of the people against unfair and imbalanced forces in society that keep proletariat classes from rising above their current, difficult situation. This is indeed the crux of the song, as written and performed in Hattaman's chorus:
“Everytime we rise people try to push me down.”
Naturally, Hattaman exemplifies the tenacity of his community by continuing to persevere in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. “I don't care what they want to say about me, because they do not
nothing about me,” he sings. He also points to the deplorable conditions of the public at large, and uses himself as a symbol of that pain and tribulation. He sings, “The king of suffering, that's what they call me.”
Hattaman's voice is extremely deep and rich, not unlike the great Buju Banton. He has performed since his childhood on numerous stages stretching back to Rockfort in Kingston, Jamaica. He lists his major
influences in the following order: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Free I, Jacob Miller, Sizzla, Bounty Hunter, and Capleton, and these influences are obvious in his music, making it rife with traditional rhythm and groove.
He was also the 2000 International Reggae Day Talent Search award winner.
Hattaman's music, like that of his group, Fyah Yard, is self-described as conscious, uplifting, spiritual, prophetic and portraying the levity of Rastafari. These attributes, combined with the musical talent that produces track after track of excellent dub and reggae music from Hattaman and his crew, ensures that “Everytime We Rise” will not be the last we hear of Hattaman.
