by Moffat Mungazi
Born Emmanuel Manyeruke to the legendary godfather of local gospel music, Mechanic Manyeruke, Guspy Warrior has been making steady progress since bursting onto the music scene nearly five years ago.
Gifted with an electrifying stage presence and crisply husky voice, his music thrives on meaning-laden lyrics. He usually works back and forth between doing hardcore dancehall music, which is exclusively for party animals in the clubs, and reggae for conscious listening.
His debut albums were Time Will Tell 1 and 2. Presently, he is the lord of Mafia 19, a clique of his followers he established with the sole purpose of identifying, developing, nurturing and exposing untamed talent.
Guspy Warrior considers himself a spiritual fighter who uses his music to champion the people's cause against the devil.
lyrical Zim dancehall chanter, Guspy Warrior, is set to treat his multitude of fans to an early 2012 present when he unveils a new album by end of January.
On the 14-track album, he worked with gifted contemporary, Sniper Storm, whom he collaborated on the cut, Dancehall Champion, alongside promising protégé, Dadza D. Other numbers on the project, among others, include Dancehall Dada, Havafari, Usarambe and Anondida featuring Lady Squanda.
