Elaz Felaz released debut album "Eli"

by SIMBARASHE MANHANGO
(Zimbabwe)

Dancehall Reggae artiste Elaz Felaz has just released his debut album titled "ELI".

The album is a serious fusion of ragga and reggae rhythms that have the potential to make the musician a household name overnight.

Recorded and produced in Mutare by DJ Assaign, the album is a reflection of the vast talent that the country has in various music genres.

Eli is set to be launched in Harare and Mutare next month while some tracks are already getting commendable airplay.

It tells the story about the journey that Africans have travelled since the days of slavery and encourages peace and unity on the continent, especially on tracks like Babylon Recruit, Me Cant and Eli.

Felaz also preaches love on tracks Woman Hallo and Mhururu while dancehall time comes with songs such as Black Soul, Stuff n Mi Money, Shungu Dzangu and the popular Nuff Love.

Felaz, real name Elton Zengeni (27) said the album was the beginning of a new chapter and his initiation into reggae and ragga.

However, the musician is not new to local showbiz having worked with Mutare-based urban grooves outfit Project Fame that is well known for the hits Chenge and Matindingoma.

?I have worked with various artists for a long time but I have remained in the background for the better part of my career.

?It is now time to get out of my shell and show the world what I am capable of,? Felaz said.

The musician says he is looking forward to working with musicians like Winky D, Guspy Worrior, King Shaddy and Lady Thunder.
