Eek a Mouse Wha Do Dem

"Biddy Biddy Bong Bong"

Eek a Mouse was born Ripton Joseph Hylton on November 19, 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica.



He got the name from a race horse which he used to bet on a lot.

Eek-A love for reggae music started while he was still in college. His first two recording "My Father's Land" and " Creation" were produced by his math teacher Mr. Dehaney.

Before his big break in 1980 mouse did some work with Papa Roots, Black Ark, Gemini, Black Scorpio and Virgo sound system all of which were producers from the 1980s.

The track (single) that propelled him to stardom was "Wah Do Dem" it was released in 1980, produced by reggae singer Lival thompson, who was also a sound system operator.

To-date this single is still prominent in sound clashes and retro reggae parties.

If you should asked anyone about this reggae singer they would say "Wha Do Dem" or "Biddy Biddy Bong Bong".

Mouse has released over eighteen (18) albums some of which are live performances.
