Duane Stephenson "August Town and Black Gold"

Duane Stephenson was born on April 22, 1976, in Kingston, Jamaica. Stephenson started out in the music business as the lead singer for the group To-Isis.

To-isis was formed in 1996. It was formed within the Cathi Levy Players. The group started out with seven (7) members.

Duane Stephenson - Dangerously Roots

In 2007 Duane went solo, starting with his debut CD (album) titled "August Town".

He is not only a great singer, but also a very good song writer. He has written songs for reggae artiste such as Jah cure, Morgan Heritage and Luciano.

Stephenson break on to the music scene in Jamaica with his cover version of Tyrone Taylor's lovers rock hit from the 1980s titled "Cottage In Negril".

He had sign a 2 album deal with VP Records, which he has now completed with the release of his second CD (album) "Black Gold".

This ablum was released on September 14, 2010. Most of the work on this 14 track CD was done with Reggae Saxophone player Dean Fraser.

Known and Loved for his conscious lyrics and the loved for the world around him, he was invited by the World Food programto the George McGovern Leadership Awards Ceremony which was held for the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The awards was held on October 5, 2010.

Stephen is currently touring and promoting his "Black Gold" album.
