Albert Tomlinson is a singer/songwriter whose roots in reggae music are long and deep.

Now performing as Lyric, his story is one of long-term perseverance and belief in the virtue
of his words, voice and music.

Songs from his previous releases have been played on the radio for years and support from
DJ’s and reggae fans has always been strong.

With a new full length CD currently released, his music is being heard and gaining recognition
more than ever.

Albert Tomlinson started his life in music as an artist and session singer at Randy’s and Studio One. His voice was heard on numerous records issued by record labels such as Pat’s, Impact and his own Lyric label during the golden years of reggae and rock steady.

His musical heritage is remarkable and authentic. He has sang in the studio on recording sessions
for Jackie Mitoo and Mr. C. (Coxson) Dodd as well as with vocalists the likes of Delroy Wilson,
Alton Ellis, Erroll Dunkley and band-mates Fredlocks and Snaw.

While living in Canada, Albert established himself as a performer, concert promoter and ambassador of Jamaican culture. With a live touring group and appearances on television and in large venue shows, he has shared the stage with such artists as Dennis Brown, Freddie McGreggor and Leroy Sibbles.

During this time his long association with producer David J. Petovar began. The release of his first solo CD - “a.k.a. Beenie Byrd” showcased his talents as a vocalist and songwriter.

The song “You Never Know” from the CD was featured in a video regularly appearing on stations in Jamaica.

With songs from recording sessions in Canada and Jamaica, the music is a fresh blend of traditional Jamaican rhythms with full band arrangements and top-notch production.

Albert Tomlinson has continued a tradition of passionate songwriting with meaningful, positive lyrics.
