Chaka Demus one half of the most successful deejay-singer recording duo in reggae history, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Is recovering in hospital after undergoing a major life saving surgical operation at the Andrews Hospital.

Reports are that he had gone to the hospital for a routine check-up, when the attending physician realized that he had an internal bleeding.

The physician along with other specialists then arranged for emergency surgery to be done.

The Deejay who's real name is John Taylor said "I was rushed into surgery, and i looked up and a team of specialists surrounded me and then I was out".

The operation lasted for over four and half hour. They were able to stop the bleeding.

Its not clear as to when he will be released from hospital.
