Catman nominated for a Dancehall Industry award in the UK

Jamaican Radio Presenter Catman has been nominated again this year for the best reggae/dancehall DJ in the UK by the DIA (Dancehall Industry Awards)

Last year he won the awards and he is looking to win it again this year.

Catman plays on the radio twice a week on City Lock Radio every Monday from 4pm to 6pm and every Tuesday from 12 noon to 2pm.

His show is called the put the spotlight on the artist "God Alone" radio show and is very popular in the UK.

Catman is the main outlet for young upcoming reggae artists in the UK and has made significant contributions to the reggae industry in England.

He is responsible for igniting the careers of many of Jamaica finest young talent being played today. I Octane, Romain Virgo, Jermaine Michaels Jah Bouks and D'Angel to name a few have benefited from having Catman not only play their songs with heavy rotation when sometimes no one else would but also by him hitting the streets with full promotional campaigns and making sure other DJs do as we'll.

Catman is currently promoting Trinidadian reggae singer Angelo, Grenadian reggae singer Oriel and Jamaican reggae singer Sugar as well as Toronto based rapper/dancehall artist Lucci Gabana.

Catman who is also the founder of Vision Newspaper, which is a double award winning community newspaper with operations in North America and Europe, was recently on the island of Jamaica to host the annual Vision Newspaper Reggae Festival in St Ann, which was suppose to be held earlier in December but was cancelled by the police.

Although Catman is very disappointed in the way the police handled the situation he is still ready to head
back to Jamaica to host his annual show in 2015.

In 2015 Catman plans to continue his popular music news segment with DJ Louie out of Connecticut. The "Music News" is a 15 minute music news segment that focuses strictly on reggae music news, gossip and entertainment from the UK. This show became very popular among the with not only the fans but also the artist because it gives everyone an opportunity to see how the industry is doing in England.

DJ Louie's reggae radio show is a very popular program in the east coast of the United States. The show airs every Wednesday on 88.5 fm in the Tri-State area which includes New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The Tri-State area of the USA has the highest West Indian population in the United States with an estimated 3 million West Indians living in that area alone.

Also in 2015 Catman will be hosting a 4 hour radio program on Bess 100 FM in Jamaica every Wednesday from 8-12pm. The program was started in 2013 as a 15 minute news segment on Bess 100 FM with Catman as the music news presenter. The show lasted 18 months ending at the end of the summer in 2013.

This new year we will be starting it back again but we changed it from a 15 minute news segment to a 4 hour radio show. We feel it is a major asset to not only the SQ brand which includes SQ Radio, SQTV and SQ Records, and SQ Homes but also to all the young artist that depend on Catman for the little radio airplay whenever they can get it.

The dancehall industry awards are on January 1st.
