Bogdanovich committed to Downsound

A few months ago, Joseph Bogdanovich had his Downsound Records artiste Ishawna nominated in several categories of the Youth View Awards.

For the event, Bogdanovich ordered a stunning dress from the United States for a few thousand US dollars for the dynamic young artiste.

He then took her to the awards show in fine style - in a limousine and with police escort. This is just one of the examples of Joe Bogdanovich's commitment to his artistes and his company, Downsound Records.

But it didn't end there. Bogdanovich left the awards show and went to Tivoli Gardens to support his young artiste, Don Husky, in his home town at a 'boat ride' in the community.

Bogdanovich recently changed his hat as executive music producer and donned one as music video director, to direct the video for Ishawna's hot new single Cheerful Giver, produced by ZJ Liquid on his Fix Up rhythm.

Scenes were shot at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records, Famous Nightclub, The Jamaica Pegasus hotel and several other locations in Kingston. Bogdanovich locked down the Famous Nightclub for several hours on a Thursday night, brought in his own lighting and cast of actors, which included lots of young women. Present on the scene were young artiste Masicka and veteran selector Sky Juice.

Ironically, Bogdanovich had to shoot for two weeks at the nightclub.

At one point, he actually walked off the set because several of the cast members had not arrived on time, so he made a statement by walking off the set to show how serious he is about his work.

Meanwhile, Ishawna is again nominated for some local awards, this time in the 2015 Star People's Choice Awards, where she is nominated in two categories, Female DJ of the Year and Best Dressed Female Artiste of the Year.

At the same time, reggae artiste Nature is about to embark on a major tour in Europe after Bogdanovich sealed the deal. He will be overseeing the entire tour to make sure that his artiste is comfortable. The tour is to promote his upcoming album, which Bogdanovich hand-picked songs for. Dean Fraser, Jon Fx and Wayne Jobson are among the producers of the album.

While Bogdanovich is the leader of the Downsound Records, his supporting cast, inclusive of producers, administration, marketing and security personnel, songwriters and the street team, is just as important.

Some names that come readily to mind are Cordel 'Skatta' Burrell (production), Sean 'Contractor' Edwards (marketing), Roger Maxwell (video editor), Leemour Palmer (security), Ava Rowe (secretary), Barrington Daley (accounting), Andre Smalling (bodyguard), among others.
